Call to Worship

ONE: The Lord is our refuge.
ALL: We can find peace in God’s abiding love.

ONE: When troubles assail us, we call upon the Lord.
ALL: When joys abound, we call upon the Lord.

ONE:  We thank you and praise God for his refuge and sanctuary.
ALL:  We will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Opening Prayer

Lord’s Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, they will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. AMEN

Hymn                                   Praise Ye the Lord, the Almighty                              #35 (verses 1and 2)

Call to Confession

Prayer of Confession

Patient and forgiving God, we come to you this day in search of your eternal grace. Remind us that your blessings are poured out in many ways, through many people. Give us the confident faith that reaches beyond our own lives to help others. Forgive us when we sink into our own selfishness and pettiness. For it is in those times that we turn our back on you. Bring us back under your wings, to the awareness of your eternal love.

Affirmation of Faith Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand Of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
